MYS 19: Ocean Independence on Efficient Explorers

Super Yachts Charters - Thu, 09/26/2019 - 13:00
MYS 19: Ocean Independence on Efficient Explorers Since its inception in 2005, Ocean Independence has firmly established itself as a market leader in charter sales. Sales Director Toby Maclaurin and Managing Partner Nick Dean visited the Breaking News Centre at the Monaco Yacht Show to talk about maintaining their place at the top table.

Around the Show, visitors will see that Ocean Independence is exhibiting a number of exciting vessels including Endeavour II and Irimari, some of the most eagerly anticipated vessels at Port Hercules this week.

The 63m Sunrise yacht Irimari is a favourite among charter clients, and sits right in the centre of Port Hercules, an aesthetic giant turning heads across the show. While Endeavour II, a 50m tri-deck explorer described by Toby Maclaurin as a “pocket explorer”, offers power and performance (perfect for exploration) like no other. Powered by a diesel-electric hybrid system, Endeavour II is a highly efficient explorer yacht that is easily capable of transatlantic crossings. This combination of an efficient and environmentally conscious yacht is something that Ocean Independence sees as a vital part of the industry’s future.

“There is a trend of a move to explorer style yachts,” explains Nick Dean, though he acknowledges that the exact definition of an explorer yacht is variable. Nonetheless, Dean believes that this trend is opening up the market to a new way of thinking. “We have seen some wonderful smaller yachts that 10 years ago we may have said ‘what on earth is that’, but it is fitting client lifestyle.” This shift in the approach is helping designers to flourish and is paving the way for exciting collaborations.

On the subject of green yachting, Nick Dean believes the trend should be viewed as an opportunity, and it must be used as a platform for innovative new designs. “To be green and not look green I think is going to be a crucial part of this business for the future. That’s up to us as an industry to create a new way of thinking. In the next two or three years a lot of this is going to be law. These rules have been coming for a very long time and now we need to accelerate the thinking of ‘how’. It’s not just a trend, it’s a necessity.”

Lady Amanda: Charter Yacht Offers No Rain Guarantee

Super Yachts Charters - Thu, 08/29/2019 - 16:00
Lady Amanda: Charter Yacht Offers No Rain Guarantee Following its sell-out success of charter bookings during the high season in the Mediterranean, popular charter yacht Lady Amanda returns to the market with an eye-catching offer. The 30m motor yacht, managed by West Nautical, is offering a ‘No Rain Guarantee’ to prospective clients.

Built by Couach Yachts in 2006 and refitted in 2018, Lady Amanda has consistently received high praise from charter clients, and is looking to extend her summer season of sailing from September through to November. Available for charter in the south of France and Italian Riviera, West Nautical are offering Lady Amanda with a ‘No Rain Guarantee’ that offers clients a refund should they experience more than 2 consecutive hours of rain on any day between the hours of 10am and 8pm.

The offer would provide clients who make bookings 10 days in advance with the safety net of a full refund for the day, should their superyacht experience be hindered by showery interruptions. Tina Collins, Charter Fleet Manager at West Nautical, said “this offer represents an excellent opportunity for charter clients interested in a late season charter to offset the risk of their experience being spoiled by bad weather, with significant financial savings. The low season weekly rate for chartering Lady Amanda is €43,000 – so clients can save over €6,000 per day if their yachting holiday is impacted by rain.”

Lady Amanda boasts a bright and spacious interior, accommodating ten guests in four ensuite cabins. One Master cabin, one VIP cabin and two double cabins offer luxurious retreats for guests, and each cabin is brightened by pristine white carpets and natural light that flows through the portholes. Plenty of entertainment is installed around the yacht, including a fully-loaded sundeck with fly bridge, bar, large dining area and Jacuzzi.

The ample on-board entertainment and luxury justifies why Lady Amanda is such a success on the charter market, and the excitement is shared by the Captain and crew, who take pride in providing unforgettable experiences to their guests.

“Me and the rest of the crew are happiest entertaining guests onboard, so we welcome the opportunity to extend our summer fun along with our charter guests,” said Captain Ashley Oberholzer. “The owner has made a massive investment in toys including a 4.5m jet tender, an electric scooter, a 5m slide, an ocean pool, blast bag, jet ski, Seabobs, paddle boards, wakeboards, wakeskate, water skis, donut, and even a crane swing.” This action-packed yacht is ideal for those seeking some late summer adventure and the incredible facilities cater for all group dynamics.

The incredible offer is sure to spark an interest among those who recognise the advantages of the Autumn season in the Mediterranean. With crowds thinning out, it is the perfect time to enjoy these beautiful locations with extra serenity, while still enjoying the full bloom. This can all be done, of course, with the added benefit of a risk-free ‘No Rain Guarantee’ charter.

Nomad IV Takes on French Polynesia

Super Yachts Charters - Wed, 08/28/2019 - 10:00
Nomad IV Takes on French Polynesia In a market of ever-increasing variety, the choice of yachts for potential charterers is expanding at an impressive rate. With bigger and bigger builds from highly sophisticated motor yachts to hybrids, this week’s charter focus instead takes a rather different approach. Enter Nomad IV; the 30 metre sailing yacht built by Italian shipyard Maxi Dolphin offering its guests an alternative and unique charter experience like no other this coming spring.

Superyachts in construction today are undoubtedly getting bigger and bigger. The demand for large, imposing builds has been undeniably on the up, and one look at the Top 100’s impressive portfolio makes it easy to see why. A trip on Nomad IV however offers something very different – and that is, at the very crux of it, a realisation of a pure passion for sailing.

With a non-complex but extremely comfortable and spacious layout, Nomad IV gives charterers the feeling of being close to the sea, which is arguably at its core the principal reason to own or charter a yacht. Its modest size offers charterers the chance to access ports and other areas which the largest superyachts of the modern day could not dream of entering, making it the perfect choice to discover new locations and live the dream of a true sailing adventure.

Nomad IV will be available for charter in French Polynesia from April 2020, presenting the perfect opportunity to explore some of the unspoilt spots in this part of the world. For charterers seeking a yet more alternative choice than Bora Bora, we would recommend stopping off to enjoy some of the lesser known but equally beautiful spots along the South Pacific.

Must-see destinations for the more adventurous charterer include the pristine beaches of the Vanilla Islands, or the glittering turquoise shores of Huahine. Nomad IV’s captain will escort you to discover the rugged landscape of Fatu Hiva, home to his favourite bay Hanvavae, which served as the inspiration behind Robert Louis Stevenson’s renowned ‘Treasure Island’.

For those readers wondering whether a trip aboard Nomad IV means compromising on any degree of comfort, we wish to put your minds at ease.  Each of her spacious 5 cabins is fitted with an en-suite bathroom, offering room for up to 12 guests. Other notable features include the yacht’s spacious deck saloon, affording guests a 360° panoramic view of stunning surroundings in an idyllic setting.

Nomad IV will be available for charter with Bernard Gallay from April 2020, when she is sure to be a popular choice for adventurous charterers in the spring and summer seasons to come.

M/Y Just Enough: Plenty for an Unforgettable Charter Unassuming yet powerful, M/Y Just Enough is something of a misnomer - she is plenty for an unforgettable luxury charter. The 2012-built 42.67m yacht is perfect for an exclusive break with a select few of your family and friends.

Just Enough impresses at every turn. Beautiful Ares Marine exteriors are in immaculate condition thanks to a 2019 refit, as are interiors that yield timeless styling and beautiful furnishings to create an atmosphere that is comfortable and luxurious in equal measure.

Her layout sleeps 11 guests across 5 rooms, of which the master suite is the jewel in the crown, offering a king size bed, desk/vanity area and marble accented ensuite with corner shaped jacuzzi. The rest of the accommodation comprises 2 double cabins, 2 double/twin cabins and 2 pullman beds.

A full beam salon features a comfortable lounge and formal dining, with a day head also accessible from this level. Meanwhile, a separate area for entertaining and relaxing is located on the bridge deck - here guests find a large sofa, a full bar and a game table. Moving aft to the exterior, there is an alternate al fresco dining area.

Just Enough’s size also makes her the perfect yacht for charters who want plenty of access to the sea. The sun deck is a great escape by day or night - here, a large jacuzzi, marble-topped bar and several chaise longue set the mood.

The 42.67m is also a yacht of impressive performance. Built with an aluminium hull and superstructure, she reaches a cruising speed of 14 knots and a maximum speed of 18 knots with a range of 3,500nm.

With the summer season drawing to a close, now is the perfect time to be dreaming of a sumptuous winter charter. Just Enough, available with Bluewater, strikes the perfect balance between comfort and luxury as she cruises the idyllic grounds of the St. Barths, St. Martin and the BVI.

76.6m YERSIN Explorer Enters Charter Market

Super Yachts Charters - Wed, 08/07/2019 - 16:00
76.6m YERSIN Explorer Enters Charter Market A new giant has taken to the charter market as SuperYachtsMonaco announces its appointment as worldwide charter Central Agent for 76.6m Yersin. Borrowing her name from the legendary 19th century explorer and physician, Yersin certainly does this justice as an innovative, daring yet luxurious superyacht.

Delivered in 2015 by French shipyard Piriou with exterior design by Pierre Jacques Kubis, Yersin is built as a powerful and rugged explorer yacht. She is capable of reaching the most remote spots on the globe, packed with an impressive arsenal of discovery equipment all while simultaneously offering a sublimely luxurious experience for her guests. She now joins the rapidly growing SuperYachtsMonaco charter fleet that includes Mondomarine’s 60m Sarastar and Oceanco’s 86m Sailing Yacht Aquijo.

Commenting on the incorporation of Yersin, SuperYachtsMonaco Director Alex Banning said “we are delighted to have such a unique yacht in our fleet. Being new to the charter market, we would tell all charter clients that if you have the pleasure of chartering Yersin then expect a well-balanced experience of play, comfort, style and exploring, no matter where you choose to go.”

For the ultimate adrenaline-filled adventure, Yersin comes equipped with two 7.5m Zodiac Hurricanes and a quad fitted with caterpillar tracks to take to all terrain. Whether on land or sea, Yersin caters for action with amenities including jet skis, bicycles and even an on-board professional diving facility. The 76.6 metre explorer is built for long-distance missions, and her main deck accommodates space for specialist equipment including a submarine and seaplane.

For those among her 12 guests who would prefer a more peaceful and indulgent escape, Yersin is designed to have something for everyone, giving her great liveability. Around the Giga yacht, you will find everything from a Hammam spa, hairdresser and a 12 seater private cinema. 24 crew members are on hand to attend to every need of the guests, while each of the 8 guest cabins comes with a holistic entertainment system and en suite facilities. The open and modern layout of Yersin allows her plenty of social spaces, and for evening entertainment guests can move from the two formal dining rooms into the two on-board cocktail bars.

“The beauty of Yersin,” Mr Banning told Superyachts.com, “is her versatility of superyacht comfort with commercial ship durability. She can provide superyacht, luxury or no-frills simplicity, with the most adventurous, remote and mind-blowing itineraries to explore that’s unique to the charter market.”

Importantly for a market that is increasingly eco-conscious, Yersin is able to provide all of these things in an environmentally-friendly manner. “Above all she can travel from destination to destination with minimal impact on the environment,” says Banning, and this was recognised when Yersin was awarded with CLEANSHIP class notations, owing to the ultramodern green technology that has been installed throughout the vessel.

In Yersin, SuperYachtsMonaco have gained an exciting and distinctive addition to their charter fleet that is built to “travel, explore and educate”.
